The 2026/27 Betway Premiership is underway — and RiseUp Group is once again in Durban City FC's corner as the club's Official Human Resources & Industrial Relations Partner, the partnership now in its second season.
It began on 5 September 2025, when the club announced RiseUp as its HR & IR partner for the 2025/26 campaign and beyond: RiseUp providing the HR and organisational development expertise that professionalises the club's off-pitch operations — supporting players, technical staff and management.
“Our story is one of passion, but our future is built on professionalism. In RiseUp, we have found a partner that embodies both.” — Farook Kadodia, Chairman, Durban City FC
A football club is an operation that can't stop
Strip away the floodlights and a professional football club looks like many of the operations RiseUp partners with every week. There are employment contracts and discipline codes. There is a workforce that surges on matchdays — stewarding, hospitality, facilities, logistics — and quiet weeks in between. There are statutory obligations, payroll cycles that must land correctly every time, and industrial-relations questions that need handling with care and compliance.
Kickoff doesn't move. Like a shift on a production line, a matchday is a deadline the whole operation must be staffed, paid and compliant for.
Durban roots, shared story
RiseUp was founded in Durban in 2015; Durban City FC carries the city's name onto a national stage. “We see our own story in Durban City FC,” says Luyanda Msomi, Marketing Specialist at RiseUp Group. “A club with immense potential, a fierce will to succeed, and deep community roots.”
Season two. Same city, same standards. To every player, staff member and supporter of Durban City FC — we're proud to be in your corner for the 2026/27 campaign.
