Sales Manager – Maritime Cranes

About this position
Our client, a leading international manufacturer of heavy capital equipment, is looking for a Sales Manager for its maritime crane division in Durban. You will be the main commercial link between the local operation, the manufacturing plants, dealers, business partners and customers. You will build customer relationships, find new business opportunities, and recommend the right maritime crane solution and configuration for each application.
Minimum Requirements: -Degree (NQF 7). -4–5 years of related experience and/or training in capital equipment sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. -Strong Microsoft Excel skills for sales analysis, pipeline management, forecasting, tender preparation and management reporting. -Willingness and ability to travel as the business requires, including at short notice. -Experience in maritime cranes, port equipment, construction machinery, heavy capital equipment or a comparable technical sales environment. -Experience with internal ERP or CRM systems. -Product knowledge of maritime crane equipment. -An established network within the maritime market.
Key Responsibilities: -Achieve agreed machine sales targets and contribute to sustainable revenue growth for the maritime crane portfolio. -Meet monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs, including pipeline development, customer engagement, reporting and order intake. -Grow market share by identifying new opportunities and positioning the company as a preferred supplier of maritime crane solutions. -Respond promptly to sales enquiries, keep in regular contact with existing customers, and research new markets, customers and business partners. -Compile accurate commercial offers and support feasibility studies, tender submissions and technical clarifications. -Liaise with administration, logistics and the manufacturing plants on configurations, lead times, pricing, availability and delivery requirements. -Build and maintain a strong network across the maritime, port, logistics and capital equipment industries. -Give structured weekly feedback on sales calls, market intelligence, pipeline status and results. -Take part in budgeting, forecasting and departmental improvement initiatives. -Deliver professional presentations to customers, internal stakeholders and industry audiences. -Represent the company at customer engagements, industry forums and business events, including hospitality activities that may fall outside normal business hours. -Travel locally, regionally and internationally, sometimes at short notice and for varying durations.
