The RiseUp Group — Employee care & funeral cover

RiseUp Care

South Africa's first Shariah-compliant funeral cover, built for the people who work our shifts.

Why it exists

Built for a real need, not a brochure.

Funerals in South Africa are community events with real costs, and they arrive without notice. For the people who work contract shifts, an unexpected funeral can undo months of careful earning — which is why funeral cover is the benefit workers actually ask for, long before gym discounts or wellness apps.

RiseUp Care was built inside a workforce group, for the realities of a workforce: affordable premiums, immediate cover from the first payment, and a claims experience run with the empathy the moment demands. As the first Shariah-compliant funeral cover in South Africa, it also serves families whose faith requirements conventional policies ignore — burial timelines, rites and the avoidance of interest-bearing structures.

What RiseUp Care offers.

01

Three tiers

Silver, Gold and Platinum plans scale cover and benefits to the household's budget — from R10 000 family cover on Silver upwards.

02

Immediate effect

Cover is effective from the first premium paid — no waiting games when a family needs certainty.

03

Beyond the funeral

Emergency medical assistance and legal assist are built in, with repatriation of the deceased included.

04

Shariah-compliant by design

Structured to comply with Islamic finance principles — a first in the South African funeral-cover market — while open to everyone.

Who it's for

Individuals and families directly — and employers who want to offer contract workforces a benefit that actually matters. For clients of the workforce engine, Care can be introduced at induction as a voluntary, payroll-adjacent benefit.

Is the cover only for Muslim families?

No. The plan is structured to be Shariah-compliant, which makes it suitable for Muslim families — but it's open to anyone, and the benefits work the same way for every policyholder.

Can our company offer Care to its contract workforce?

Yes — that's the natural fit. Because RiseUp already runs contracting, induction and payroll for your contingent, introducing Care as a voluntary benefit is an administration step, not a project.

What are the exact premiums and benefit schedules?

Premiums and benefits are governed by the policy documents for each tier and can change. Ask for the current plan breakdown — we'll send the latest schedule rather than quote from a website.

One conversation scopes it — and if you're already a workforce client, most of the groundwork is done.
